New excavator bought for testing and demonstrating DigPilot
(June 2007) GL-Instrumenter AS has just bought a brand new Volvo ERC58 for testing and demonstrating the DigPilot Excavator Guidance system. Preliminary testing has already been performed, and shows that the system is working very well.

Testing and demonstrating DigPilot
The Volvo ERC58 excavator is excellent for testing Excavator Guidance systems. The compact excavator has all the features of large excavators, and it is in fact more challenging to install an Excavator Guidance system on a compact excavator than on a large excavator. The reason is the limited space available to fasten the sensors and the PC.
With the small size and light weight of the DigPilot sensors and touch panel-PC, this is however not a problem. The DigPilot hardware (4 sensors and the panel-PC) was mounted on the ERC58 and up and running in less than 5 minutes.
Customers and dealers will soon be given the opportunity of hands on, live demonstrations.
